"I decided to play for the best team in the world"

There is no question about it for Barcelona defender Daniel Alves: "We remain the team to beat because we are still the best in the world. It doesn't matter whether we lose the Liga or the Champions League - we're the ones carrying the mark of the world champions".
The Brazilian declared his confidence in the squad’s ability in a press conference on Friday. "We have to make a good start to send a message that we’re going for everything this year", Alves went on to say.
The Brazilian right back wished that Pep Guardiola had stayed on in the dugout, but believes that he has left the baton in the best of hands. "Pep has been really great here, but with the help of our current coach, Tito Vilanova".
He also responded to Mourinho's comments when he said that they should call him 'The Only One' instead of 'The Special One': "Pep is definitely better than Mourinho, because he’s beaten him. He's not the 'Anti-One'; he comes before the 'One'.
He was asked about his almost constant feud with Madrid: "It's like that because I didn't go and play there. That's their problem. As soon as I came to play for Barcelona, they changed their views about me at Madrid. Instead of playing for Madrid, I play for the best club in the world, which is Barcelona".
Alves also welcomed Alex Song's arrival: "He's a great player. People who play for big teams have got something good. If they’ve targeted him, it's because of his ability".
