A night in the Azerbaijan gold

Azerbaijan has lived a memorable night at the excel with the gold medals won by Toghrul Asgarov and Sharif Sharifov.
Asgarov won the freestyle, category 60 kilos, with his victory in the final against Besik Kudukhov, bronze in Beijing four years ago and who grabbed the money this time.

Asgarov, dominated the first round with a single projection. But he emerged with the way in the second, sending Kudukhov ground and out of the carpet, allowing him to win the first gold medal in the Azerbaijan fight at London 2012.

Both the American Coleman Scott and the Indian Yogeshwar Dutt won the bronze after winning the Repechage of tonight.

The Azerbaijan won his second gold medal in an hour with the victory of Sharifov on Puerto Rican Jaime Yusept Espinal at the finals of the Freestyle competition in the 84 kg category.

Sharifov was the favorite for the gold medal after winning the year final in the World Championships and it did not disappoint. Indeed he won a 6-1 2-0 victory on his opponent at the end of a lively combat.

Espinal scored a total outstanding 37 points before the final - much more than any of his opponents - but his inexperience in an international final proved glaring in this confrontation.

Poor defence of the Puerto Rican led Sharifov of the project on the ground twice in the first round and two points in the second round him were enough to win.

The Georgian Dato Marsagishvili and the Iranian Ehsan Naser Lashgari won bronze in this category.
