Japan won his first gold medal in the competition of men fight in 24 years with Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu on Sushil Kumar Indian victory.
Kumar, railroader in the civil and who comes from Delhi, had the ambition to become the first Indian Olympic champion wrestler.
But Yonemitsu defeated him in the final freestyle of the category of the 66 kilograms 1-0 3-1 and made a historic victory for the Japan in the ExCeL.
Yonemitsu dominated a tight first round and secured the victory in the second after having grabbed and pressed ground Kumar.
Mitsuru Sato and Takashi Kobayashi were the last two Japanese wrestlers to have won gold at the 1988 Games in Seoul. They have Japanese wrestlers won three gold medals at the London 2012 Games.
The Kazakh Akzhurek Tanatarov and Cuban Liván López Azcuy won the bronze medal after having triumphed in the Repechage.
