The German players trust their coach, Joachim Löw, "one hundred percent", midfielder Sami Khedira has said after he was criticised for the defeat in the Euro 2012 semi-final against Italy. His comments came one day before the friendly against Argentina in Frankfurt.
"We trust him one hundred percent. We are in no doubt, because he is an accomplished coach", said the 25-year-old Real Madrid player. "A manager proves his worth when he makes risky decisions. No one can criticise his starting eleven in the Euro 2012 semi-final. It's us, the players, who are on the pitch", added Khedira.
"We had lots of chances to score before the Italian goal and we could have won 2-0. The things we did well against Greece in the quarter-final we failed to do against Italy", he stated.
Löw caused controversy amongst the press with the tactical changes he made in the semi-final against Italy. Toni Kroos started instead of Marco Reus. The forwards Mario Gómez and Lukas Podolski "took responsibility" for the defeat.
